December 2nd is Giving Tuesday

Summary:
From now until Giving Tuesday, December 2nd, we are offering a free membership to Inclusion BC when you donate!

As shoppers gear up for Black Friday sales, many are also looking for ways to give back to community and to use their funds to support organizations who are making a difference.

Inclusion BC is calling on our supporters to think of us this Tuesday and help us build inclusive workplaces, schools and communities.

Your donation will support our exciting new employment initiative, Ready, Willing and ABLE, aimed at increasing the employment rate of people with developmental disabilities in B.C.

Making a difference

Robert Mcivor, a 30-year-old Vancouverite with Aspergers Syndrome, called Inclusion BC this April frustrated that after five years of actively looking for work, he still had not landed a job. 75% of adults with developmental disabilities are unemployed—not because they can’t work. But because they aren’t given a chance.

Ready, Willing & ABLE is giving employers the tools they need to hire people with developmental disabilities. We’ve recently launched a mentorship program as a way for employers to understand the value those with developmental disabilities bring to the labour market. The program’s plan will help close the employment gap for people like Robert, who has been paired up with Jeff, a senior programmer at Electronic Arts.

Inclusion BC continues a 60-year legacy building on the success and courage of individuals and families who faced immense barriers. A $25 gift will make an immense difference in changing the employment landscape.

*If you choose to have your donation sent as a gift to a friend or family member, we will send them a thank you holiday card, recognizing your contribution.

*For a limited time, we are offering FREE Inclusion BC membership for each donation of at least $25!
