BCACL Launches new website

Summary:
Welcome to the new BCACL website! After several months of development, we are proud to release our long awaited new website.

The website has been developed with the help of a steering group of self advocates, family members, our member organizations, and community partners. We extend a huge thanks to the following individuals who helped guide the vision and creation of the new BCACL website:

  • Cam Dore, H.O.M.E Society
  • Colleen Evans, Centre for Inclusion and Citizenship
  • Kevin Lusignan, Burnaby Association for Community Inclusion (BACI)
  • Joe Rickley, Self Advocate Net (www.selfadvocatenet.ca)
  • Leila Rahemtulla, BCACL Board of Directors
  • Bryce Shaufelberger, Self Advocate Net (www.selfadvocatenet.ca)

We also thank the Self Advocacy Caucus all of BCACL's committees  for their input and suggestions.

The talented, creative team at Raised Eyebrow Web Design Studio ran with our vision and created what we hope is a user-friendly, accessible and visually appealing experience. Enjoy!

You'll notice a few exciting changes on our new website:

Sharing

If you see something you like on the site and want to share it with your friends or contacts on facebook, twitter or another social media site, just click the "share this" link at the top of the page.

Searching

We've improved our search functions to make it easier for you to find information anywhere on the site. To visit the advanced search page, click the "search" button on the top right corner of the website. You can search events, resources and what's new items by different categories and topics.

Keeping Informed

We've made it easier for you to sign up to receive updates from BCACL. Simply enter your email address into the field at the bottom right of the homepage!

Reading

Many visitors to our old website told us it was hard to read the small text. We listened and made it easy for users to increase the size of the text. You'll notice that near the top of the page when you click the link that says "bigger", the text gets bigger.
