Fact Sheet on B.C.'s New Employment Program

BCACL has created a Fact Sheet to help give clarity to the new Employment Program in B.C.

In February 2009, the Labour Market Development Agreement (LMDA) saw more than $300 million in federal employment insurance programs, 250 staff and 32 offices transferred from the Federal Government to the Province of B.C.

The Employment and Labour Market Services Division within the Ministry of Social Development  held consultations as part of its Business Transformation Project and has proposed a draft service delivery model.

This fact sheet looks at the existing Federal and Provincial programs and the promises of the new employment program. If you have any questions about the fact sheet, please contact Karen De Long, BCACL's Director of Community Development at kdelong@bcacl.org or 604-777-9100 ext 530.
