Thank you to everyone who attended or supported our 2014 conference in Nanaimo. The conference was a huge success, with over 500 people coming together for three days of learning, networking and fun.

Inclusion BC will host its 2014 Conference, "Tides of Change: Justice, Diversity and Inclusion for All" in Nanaimo, British Columbia from June 11-14, 2014. 

The Inclusion BC conference is BC’s premier learning event addressing current trends and issues to advance the rights and opportunities of people with developmental disabilities and their families. We are happy to be co-hosting our conference with two of our member organizations who are doing great work in the Nanaimo community:

The conference will take place at the Vancouver Island Conference Centre in Nanaimo, BC. The Vancouver Island Conference Centre is a spacious facility that will accommodate over 600 participants and eight simultaneous workshops: it is convenient to Harbour Air, BC Ferries, and the conference hotels.

Research With Relevance: June 11, 2014

The Conference opens on June 11, with an independent interactive session entitled Research with Relevance, hosted by the Centre for Inclusion and Citizenship (CIC) of the University of British Columbia. The CIC is committed to research, learning and knowledge exchange, with a dedicated focus on intellectual disability policy and practice. Reseach with Relevance will be an interactive day of learning and discussion, highlighting current research projects focusing on youth transitions, homes sharing, pre-natal and genetic testing, aging and employment; will share updates on community engagement initiatives; and will engage participants in new ways to think about how research can be used to promote the full inclusion and citizenship for people with intellectual disabilities and their families in communities throughout our province.

This is a full day program on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 - and you can register while you are registering for the conference!
