Tanya Norman - Powell River

Tanya Norman lives in Powell River with her partner Andrew. She works full-time and is involved with Special Olympics. Having already competed at the National level for floor hockey in 2008, Tanya is scheduled to compete again in 2016 in Newfoundland. She has attended and presented at many Inclusion BC conferences, Youth Quake, CASE conferences and many other leadership retreats. At present, she is a member of the BC Self Advocacy Foundation, ESATTA (Empowering Self Advocates to Take Action) and a member of the Inclusion BC Self Advocacy Advisory Committee. The self advocacy movement has inspired Tanya to move out of her comfort zone and spread her wings to not only help herself, but support others who are like her.
